Assessment of Root Canal Filling Removal Effectiveness Using Micro–computed Tomography: A Systematic Review

4 (1 vote)

The removal of obturation materials from the root canal system is a primary objective in root canal  retreatment procedures. This systematic review aims to discuss the effectiveness of different instrumentation procedures in removing root-canal filling materials assessed by micro-computed tomography.

At the conclusion, participants should be able to:

  • Evaluate the ability of different root canal instrumentation techniques in removing root canal filling material.
  • Discuss the role of solvents for the removal of root canal filling material.
  • Discuss the role of irrigant agitation for the removal of root canal filling material.
