2 (3 votes)

CE Hours: 1.5

 Course Description:

Dental trauma can involve so much more than a tooth. To fully appreciate the management of the whole patient we brought in an interdisciplinary team of experts, including a pediatric dentist and an emergency medicine physician. This session will be a case-based panel discussion and focus on diagnosis and management based on current science and evidence-based outcomes. There will be opportunity for interaction with the audience. Trauma is often a cause of concern for the patient and practitioner alike. Understanding the scope of the dental and medical issues that can arise from injury is crucial for developing the appropriate action plans. This session will demonstrate and discuss specific cases of trauma with input and perspectives from an endodontist, pediatric dentist, and emergency medicine physician.

At the conclusion, participants should be able to:

  • Discuss updates to published trauma management guidelines.
  • Describe interdisciplinary management of trauma through case-based presentations.
  • Gain insights into trauma management through the perspectives of an endodontist, pediatric dentist and emergency medicine physician.
