CE Hours: 0 CE hour

The treatment success of dental trauma should be constructed by a multidisciplinary approach. Suitable medical evaluation is a critical step to avoid unwanted consequences. Neurological examination and its concerning symptoms must be always taken in consideration even before the conception of a definitive treatment. Also, proper management of injuries in the developing dentition will many times prevent or lessen long-term recurrent problems related to periodontal and restorative disfigurement. Mixed and adult dentition injuries ranging from simple displacements to advanced intrusions and avulsions will be described in detail with special emphasis on the role of each team member. This presentation will address the important aspects of early action, from the patient overall health to the treatment prognosis. Implant placement combined with hard and soft tissue management and restoration, will be discussed and established. Participants will be enlightened by the stable and esthetic results achievable converging in the esthetic zone.

At the conclusion, participants should be able to:

  • Describe the importance of a multi-disciplinary management of dental alveolar trauma.
  • Discuss the concerning neurological symptoms and the significance of frequent examinations.
  • Identify the paramount treatment approaches, alternatives and prognosis.
