Course Description:

The reality of endodontic practice today is that various practice models exist and thrive. New graduates seeking to enter practice or experienced endodontists changing their practice situations need to evaluate these models in order to decide which one is best for them. 

At the conclusion, participants should be able to:

  • Distinguish the clinical and business differences between these practice models.
  • Use the information gained from this panel discussion to evaluate various practice models.
  • Choose the practice model that is best for their situations.

Tevyah J. Dines, D.M.D.

Dr. Dines graduated from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine in 1997 and then completed a three year endodontic training program at Harvard which included patient care, biomedical research, and teaching. In addition to his endodontic certificate, Dr. Dines also earned a Master's degree in oral biology. Dr. Dines practiced as an associate in a multi office endodontic practice for several years and has been a 'freelance' endodontist since 2008. Dr. Dines is an active member of several professional organizations and completed a three year term on the Board of Directors for the AAE and is a member of the Practice Affairs Committee. He is currently the Treasurer for the Massachusetts Association of Endodontists. Dr. Dines is also a part time instructor in the Department of Restorative Dentistry & Biomaterial Sciences at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine.

Alan S. Law, D.D.S., Ph.D.

Dr. Alan S. Law received his doctor of dental surgery and Certificate in Endodontics from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry, Iowa City, Iowa. He also completed his Ph.D., “Mechanisms and Modulation of Orofacial Pain,” with the department of pharmacology at the University of Iowa. Dr. Law has published several of articles in scientific and clinical journals, and has co-authored chapters on "The Non-Odontogenic Toothache" and "Regenerative Endodontics in Pathways of the Pulp. " He teaches continuing education courses at the University of Minnesota, is a past president of the Minnesota Association of Endodontists and a former director of the American Association of Endodontics. He is a past president of the American Board of Endodontics. He is in full–time practice in the Twin Cities with The Dental Specialists, a multi-specialty dental practice, and an adjunct associate professor in the division of endodontics at the University of Minnesota.

Kerri L. Lawlor, D.D.S

I graduated from the University of Missouri-Kansas City with a DDS in 1999. I then started and operated a general dentistry practice in Lawrence, KS for 8 years before returning to the University of Missouri to complete my certificate in Endodontics. In 2009 I moved to Colorado and began practicing endodontics. I have been employed by a large dental corporation for 5 years as an endodontist. When not practicing, I am playing in the Colorado outdoors with my husband and three boys.

Peter A. Morgan, D.M.D., M.Sc.D.

Dr. Peter A. Morgan completed his undergraduate and graduate education at University of Pittsburgh. After graduation from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine, he served as a Captain in the U.S. Army Dental Corp, at Fort Bragg, NC and Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC. He completed his Endodontic specialty training at Boston University School of Dental Medicine, where he also earned a Master of Science in Dentistry. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics and former Associate Clinical Professor at the Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine. He has served as president of the Massachusetts Association of Endodontists, trustee of The American Association of Endodontists and Trustee of the AAE Foundation board. He currently serves as President of the AAE Foundation Board. Dr. Morgan is the Managing Partner of North Shore and Brookline Endodontics in the Boston, MA. area.
