If hand files do not, rotary files cannot. If like me, you subscribe to the belief that prevention is better than cure, and if ledging, transportation and instrument separation are the problem, then a well-prepared Glide Path is certainly the solution. With rotary instrumentation becoming the mainstay in endodontics the world over, the importance of the Glide Path cannot be overstated. It isn't a coincidence either that manufacturers are attempting to make great strides in the management of Glide Paths. Therefore, I would like to shed some light on the necessity, techniques and instruments involved in this crucial step in modern endodontic practice. After all, well begun is half done!
At the conclusion, participants should be able to:
- Discuss the importance of preparing a Glide Path.
- Prepare a Glide Path that facilitates ease of cleaning and shaping the root canal architecture.
- Describe Endodontic failures that have occurred in their practice in the past.
