John West, D.D.S., M.S.D.

One of dentistry's most respected endodontic clinicians and educators, British born Dr. John West is founder and director of the Center for Endodontics. His unique style and delivery transforms complex clinical situations into simple and understandable skills. John West received his DDS from the University of Washington where he is Affiliate Professor Department of Endodontics . He earned his MSD in endodontics at Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine where he was awarded the Distinguished Alumni Award. He coauthored Obturation of the Radicular Space with Dr. John Ingle in Ingle's 1994 and 2002 editions of Endodontics and was senior editor of Cleaning and Shaping the Root Canal System in Cohen and Burns 1994 and 1998 Pathways of the Pulp. He has authored Endodontic Predictability in Dr. Michael Cohen's 2008 Quintessence text Interdisciplinary Treatment Planning: Principles, Design, Implementation and Michael Cohen's 2010 Quintessence text Interdisciplinary Treatment Planning Volume II: Comprehensive Case Studies. John is lead author of Esthetic Management of Endodontically Treated Teeth in Dr. Ronald Goldstein's 2019 third edition of Esthetics in Dentistry. John's memberships include: 2009 president and fellow of the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry, 2010 president of the Academy of Microscope Enhanced Dentistry, the Northwest Network for Dental Excellence, and the International College of Dentists. John serves on the editorial advisory boards for: The Journal of Microscope Enhanced Dentistry, Dentistry Today, and is associate editor for Endodontic Practice. John and his two sons, Jason and Jordan, are in private endodontic practice in Tacoma, Washington where they set standards of exceptional endodontics and are dedicated to exceeding the expectations of the restorative dentist, their patients, and themselves.
