CE Hours: 0.0

Course Description:

The components of endodontic therapy—diagnosis, treatment, and re-evaluation—can occasionally be enhanced and solidified with the addition of information gained from limited-field CBCT imaging. This session will review the 12 recommendations contained in the 2015 AAE-AAOMR joint position statement. Clinical cases will be utilized to highlight both strengths and limitations of these 3-D images in the practice of endodontics.

At the conclusion, participants should be able to:

  • Discuss the critical role of imaging in the modern practice of endodontics.
  • Describe situations where information gathered via three-dimensional imaging may change our diagnosis, treatment procedures, or subsequent outcome assessments.
  • Relate the twelve recommendations from the position statement on CBCT use in endodontics to actual clinical cases and scenarios.
