A thorough discussion of which websites are most important and impactful for dental practices will occur. The group will also review the systems and scripting needed to incorporate into our practices to ensure success in getting our patients to leave positive reviews. A significant portion of the program will also be devoted to how we should handle responding to a negative review should one occur. This fast-paced, enlightening program is sure to help demystify the world of online reviews in fun & casual manner! Dental team involvement is highly recommended for this program.

At the conclusion, participants should be able to:

    • Discuss the literature and research relating to how online reviews affect dental practices

Description: Targeted Endodontic Microsurgery (TEMS) utilizes trephine burs and 3D-printed surgical guides to achieve osteotomy, root resection and biopsy in a single step. The digital workflow for guide production is marked by conversion of a patient’s physical anatomy into digital data that forms a digital model upon which a TEMS guide is designed and then 3D-printed. This presentation aims to demystify the digital workflow and guide design process, and to show proper clinical applications of the surgical guide. Participants will see several methods for digitally rendering bone, teeth, neuro-vascular structures, crowns and soft tissues. Principles of digital model creation within design software will be presented so that clinicians can communicate meaningfully with a 3D printing lab. Finally, several TEMS cases with treatment planning considerations will be presented including palatal roots of maxillary 1st and 2nd molars and mesial and distal roots of mandibular 1st and 2nd molars.

At the conclusion, participants should be able to:

    • Describe different ways of digitizing hard and soft tissues for creation of a digital model.
    • Describe surgical guide design principles for communication with a 3D printing lab.
    • Describe all clinical phases of guided surgical endodontics to include presurgical evaluation, radiographic evaluation, treatment planning and intraoperative application.

Description: The advent of MTA about 2 decades ago brought about a significant change in the practice of clinical endodontics. A material that suited our work-space and the periradicular tissue, perfectly. It has been extensively investigated in in-vitro, animal and clinical studies. With due diligence in the literature, material has our academic and investigative endorsement. However, there are limitations to use of MTA e.g., inability to use for routine obturation, it’s difficult handling properties and tendency to cause discoloration. Material scientists have worked on overcoming the limitations of MTA by introducing newer generation of Bioceramics. The lecture is an overview of the current research and clinical applications of the newer bioceramics available to us. Published research will be critically reviewed and clinical cases presented demonstrating the applications in various treatment modalitiesson

At the conclusion of this course, participants will learn:

    • Discuss an evidence-based evaluation of the chemical, physical and biological properties of Bioceramics pertinent to endodontics.
    • Explain the clinical use especially as a sealer
    • Recognize the strength and weakness of the material

Description: The endodontic access sets the foundation for the endodontic procedure and is often stated to be the most critical and challenging aspect of conventional endodontics. Complications that can arise from the access include excessive removal of tooth structure, failure to locate the canal(s) as well as an iatrogenic perforation. In addition, teeth with calcified pulp chambers and canals significantly increase the difficulty of the procedure. Dynamic navigation was developed in dentistry to aid with the placement of dental implants. This technology has been adapted and refined for endodontic use. Dynamically guided endodontics gives the clinician the ability to treatment plan the access and have visual feedback via a monitor of the drill progressing along the planned path inside the tooth. Dynamically guided endodontics has an end result of a minimally invasive access with localization of canal anatomy.

At the conclusion, participants should be able to:

    • Explain the difference between a static guide and dynamically guided endodontics
    • Describe the advantages of dynamic navigation over the use of static guides for endodontic treatment
    • Apply both static and dynamic navigation to endodontic treatment

Description: The presentation will look at canal system irrigation with the intent of understanding how various modalities work and how effective they are. The recently introduced multisonic, fluid dynamic irrigation technology works in a fundamentally different way than traditional needle irrigation. Its method of action will be looked at in-depth so participants can understand exactly how it works. Once explained, this action will be visualized with macro video in anatomically accurate clear plastic tooth models. During this, a direct comparison will be made with traditional irrigation protocols. Issues of effectiveness, safety and cost will be examined. The presentation will be summarized with a discussion of the ramification of this technology on our broader shaping and obturation concepts.

At the conclusion, participants should be able to:

    • Describe the various irrigation protocols used today in endodonitcs
    • Describe the advantages and disadvantaages of each irrigation protocol
    • Describe the method of action of the new multisonic fluid dynamic driven irrigation devise and how this technology impacts traditional endodontic treatment protocols
