5 (2 votes)

CE Hours: 1.25

Description: This seminar provides a review of the available data on the microbiological composition of deep caries and the effects of deep caries on the inflammatory response in the dental pulp. The factors that may lead to clinical symptoms, and the correlation of histologic and clinical findings are also reviewed. Contemporary molecular studies that characterize the inflammatory response in the pulp are also discussed.

  • Discuss the historical and contemporary perspectives on pulp response to caries
  • Describe the association of clinical findings and histologic structure of the dental pulp under deep caries.
  • Explain the available information on the role of molecular mediators of pulp inflammation in response to deep caries.
