EP-7 Practice Options

CE Hours: 2.25 CE hour

The practice opportunities available to new graduates or experienced practitioners eyeing a change are very diverse. Without having worked within a specific model, though, it can be difficult to understand the positive and negatives of its structure. This panel includes seven endodontists, each of whom practices under a different model. Five are in private practice (solo practitioner, freelance endodontist, endodontic group, multispecialty group, dental service organization), one is an associate professor at a university, and one is the chairman of a military postgraduate endodontic department. Each practitioner will speak about the uniqueness of his/her practice structure followed by a panel discussion directed by questions from the audience. This presentation will be a great resource for anyone aiming to better understand the many different practice models that exist within our specialty.

At the conclusion, participants should be able to:

  • Describe the organizational structure of seven unique endodontic practice models.
  • Evaluate the differences between practice models and understand the pros and cons of each.
  • Identify ways to search employment within different practice model.
