Management of Soft Tissue in Microsurgical Endodontics
CE Hours: 1.5
Description:
Wound healing is a complex and a self-regulated dynamic process. Mediators such as growth factors and cytokines play an important role in wound healing. Understanding of these concepts are vital in management of soft tissue in endodontic microsurgery. Aesthetics is an inseparable part of today’s endodontic treatment. All treatment planning must have a proven scientific basis to provide successful results. Without anticipating potential failure, any immediate success is limited to initial satisfaction and ignores the far greater elements of a problematic outcome yet to occur. The purpose of this presentation is to describe the importance of soft tissue preservation, repair and reconstruction.- Describe the local and systemic risk factors in oral wound healing
- Describe the proper flap design, flap retraction and suturing
- Explain how to prevent and manage surgical complications
