Description: Orofacial pain frequently shows up in the endodontist's office, masquerading as endodontic pain.  Muscular pain may be the most common, but neuropathic pain will as well.  This course will explain how to recognize non-odontogenic orofacial pain as such.  It will also discuss how to modify endodontic procedures for patients who have a history of TMD and/or neuropathic pain.

Learning Objectives:  

  • Recognize a TMD when it mimicks endodontic pain.
  • Recognize neuropathic pain when it mimicks endodontic pain.
  • Modify endodontic procedures for patients who have a history of TMD and/or neuropathic pain.
