Description: Wearing proper personal protective equipment has always been a requirement of OSHA’s Bloodborne Pathogens Standard. The SARS-CoV-19 abruptly spotlighted the increased need for respiratory hygiene protection in dental settings. This fast-paced session covers post-COVID respiratory protection considerations and requirements for dental professionals. In addition to a Question/Answer session, participants are encouraged to bring a respirator mask for a user-seal check demonstration.

  • Review health hazards of airborne-transmitted diseases and current trends in respiratory hygiene technology.
  • Compare current OSHA and CDC respiratory hygiene requirements and guidelines.
  • Outline OSHA requirements for a Respiratory Protection Plan and fit testing for respirator masks.
