Moderated by AAE’s Endo Voices Podcast moderator, Marcus D. Johnson- learn the opportunities associated with each of these practice models.

Marcus D. Johnson, DDS, MSD

Dr. Marcus Johnson, wanted to be a dentist since age 11. A Rutgers University alum and graduate of New York University Dental School, he advanced his knowledge and training receiving his Certificate of Endodontics from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio while earning his Master’s Degree of Science in Dentistry. Dr. Marcus Johnson is a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics. He serves as the directing endodontic attending for the General. Practice Residency at Interfaith Medical Center in Brooklyn and owns and operates a private office, City Endodontics in midtown Manhattan. He values organized dentistry and is active at the local, state and national levels. Currently he is President for the New York State Association of Endodontists, District 2 AAE director the host of the AAE podcast Endovoices.

Frederic Barnett D.M.D.

Dr. Barnett received his DMD degree in 1978 and his Certificate in Endodontics in 1981, both from the University of Pennsylvania, School of Dental Medicine. He received his Board Certification in Endodontics in 1988, has served as the Director of Post Endodontics at the University of Pennsylvania, and is currently the Chairman and Program Director of the IB Bender Postdoctoral Endodontic Program at Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia. Dr. Barnett has written numerous scientific and clinical papers and has lectured nationally and internationally on the Endodontic Infections, Revascularization, Dental Trauma, Root Resorption, and Contemporary Endodontic Treatment. Dr. Barnett is a Fellow of the IADT, the International College of Dentists, and the American College of Dentists. He received the Edward M. Osetek Educator Award in 2017 from the AAE and the 2018 Community Service Award from the Philadelphia Business Journal for providing endodontic services for the homeless in Philadelphi

Ernesto Trevino, DDS

Dr. Ernesto Gerardo Treviño is a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics. He is from McAllen, TX. He went to undergrad at UT-San Antonio, Dental School at UT Health-San Antonio (2006), an AEGD Residency from the VA Hospital in San Antonio, TX (2007) and lastly did his Endodontic training at UT Health-San Antonio (2009). He has been involved in organized dentistry including serving on his local society board. While at RGV Endodontics, LLP, he has always been in a group practice environment and has transitioned from being an associate to an owner/partner and now a partner with an Endodontic Partnership Organization (EPO) called Endo1 Partners/Specialty 1 Partners. Dr. Trevino enjoys spending his free time with his family as well as outdoor sporting activities such as tennis and basketball. He also enjoys music and plays the piano and cello.

Victoria Ball, DDS, MSD

Dr. Victoria Ball received her DDS degree from West Virginia University School of Dentistry in 2014 graduating with honors and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society. She received her Certificate of Endodontics and Master of Science degree in Dentistry from the Medical University of South Carolina College of Dental Medicine in 2016. She became a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics in 2020. She has worked in private practice for the last 6 years and is the owner of Contemporary Endodontics of Oklahoma. Dr. Ball served on the Oklahoma County Dental Society Board of Directors for two years. Dr. Ball resides in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma with her husband, two children and two dogs.

Gary "Randy" Middleton II, DDS

Dr. Middleton, a Dallas native, attended the University of Texas at Dallas where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.  He subsequently earned his D.D.S. from the University of Texas Health Science Center, San Antonio where he graduated magna cum laude.  His dental training continued in the Texas Medical Center in Houston where he attended a General Practice Residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center, Houston.  Dr. Middleton traded his burnt orange for the scarlet and cream when he attended the University of Nebraska Medical Center earning a certificate of Advanced Specialty Education in Endodontics.  He is a member of the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association and American Association of Endodontists.   His itinerant practice spans the DFW metroplex where he is an active lecturer to local dentists.  He lives in Plano, Texas with his wife and two sons.
