    Dr. Aaron Welk is an Oregon native. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Oregon. After earning a D.M.D. in 1998 from the Oregon Health & Sciences University in Portland, Oregon, he completed a general practice residency at the University Hospital OHSU. He completed a Fellowship in the Department of Endodontics and subsequently earned a Certificate in the Specialty of Endodontics at Oregon Health & Sciences University School of Dentistry. Dr. Welk has maintained a private practice in the Portland metropolitan area (Tualatin, Oregon) since 2002. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics.     Dr. Mark Haddad graduated from the University of Detroit Mercy. He practiced general dentistry for three years before pursuing specialty training at Boston University. He is grateful for the opportunity to study at Boston University, a reputable endodontics school, under Dr. Jeffrey Hutter— the Dean of Boston University and a leading figure in the dental community.  Mark enjoys dentistry for the elements it combines: artistry, the opportunity to create something with your hands, and to work with and help people. The biggest challenge he has is calming the patient. “Many times, people have a preconceived idea of how it’s going to be, and my job is to persuade them that it’s not what they expect.     Dr. Derek White was born in Birmingham, Alabama while his dad was in dental school, shortly after they moved to Butler, Alabama where Dr. White graduated high school. Dr. White attended the University of Alabama for his undergraduate studies; he then continued his education at the University of Alabama at Birmingham for both dental school and post-doctoral training in endodontics.     Jonathan Uhles, D.D.S., MDS.

    Dr. Jonathan Uhles is a partner in a multi-location endodontic practice outside Nashville, Tennessee and maintains a part-time appointment as Assistant Professor in the Department of Endodontics at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) College of Dentistry in Memphis. Dr. Uhles received his DDS, endodontic certificate and MDS from UTHSC College of Dentistry in 2011 and 2014 respectively. He has received numerous awards, including the American Association of Endodontists Student Achievement Award, the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology Achievement Award, induction into the IMHOTEP Society, AAE/Denstply Poster Award and was the recipient of the Dr. John T. McSpadden Spirit of Service Award. His research on PIPS was published in the Journal of Endodontics.     Gilberto J. Debelian, D.M.D., Ph.D.

    Dr. Gilberto Debelian has received his DMD degree from the University of São Paulo, Brasil in 1987. He has completed his specialization in Endodontics from the University of Pennsylvania, USA in 1991 and received the Louis I. Grossman student award in Endodontics. He has taught as a clinical instructor and associate professor at the endodontic program at University of Oslo (UIO), Norway from 1991 to 2010. He served as an adjunct visiting professor at the post-graduate program in endodontics, University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill from 2006 to 2015. He has concluded his PhD studies at UIO in 1997, which gave him two scientific awards from the European Society of Endodontology (ESE) and from the Norwegian Dental Association both in 1997.

    He is an adjunct visiting professor at the post-graduate program in endodontics at University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Debelian maintains a private practice limited to endodontics and is the director of the advanced endodontic microscopy center – ENDO INN (www.endoinn.com) in Oslo, Norway. Dr. Debelian has authored 7 chapters book in Endodontics, one book in Endodontics and written more than 80 scientific and clinical papers.

    Keith V. Krell, D.D.S., M.S., M.A.

    Dr. Krell received his D.D.S. and M.S. degrees from the University of Iowa in 1981 and 1983, respectively. He earned his M.A. degree in sociology-anthropology in 1975, from the United States International University in San Diego, Calif. 

    Dr. Krell has been an endodontist for over 43 years. He was a full-time educator for 8 years at the University of Iowa and was in private practice in West Des Moines, Iowa for 29 years until he retired December 31, 2017. He is still an adjunct clinical Professor in the Department of Endodontics at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry. He has lectured nationally and internationally about his research on cracked teeth based on his data base of over 3,000 private practice cases.  His complete data base is over 50,000 cases.

    Dr. Krell is a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics, as well as a past president and past director of the ABE.  He is a past president of AAEF (now the Foundation for Endodontics) and finally is past president of the American Association of Endodontists.

    Dr. Krell has been married for over 52 years to Diane and they have five grandchildren. He still has research interests in cracked teeth and vertical root fractures.
